Scoliopus
bigelovii (Liliacea) is a small rhizomatous
plant. It is native to coastal Northern California,
where it grows in very wet habitats on mossy stream
banks and moist shady forests |

It requires
the same soil as trilliums, and I grow it in a peat bed
with leafmould, but well drained. It flowers in early
spring, purple and green star shaped flowers. I haven't
grown it outside yet, but it is quite hardy. |
